As part of our mission to provide interaction between the public and artists, and a forum for the exchange and sharing of ideas and information, we conducted the following events:

Bloomin’ Art
The event was held one weekend in May, 2006. It offered garden inspired art with plants and garden objects to make a garden and home bloom. The event showcased original art by 18 regional guest artists, ceramics students at Washington & Jefferson College, elementary school art classes and 14 Co-op members. Artists talks and demonstrations were held both days and included Japanese flower arranging, landscape design, organic gardening, rug hooking, and comic book illustration. The event attracted several hundred visitors and was among the most successful events in the Co-op’s history.

The Artists' Lecture Series
For several years, the Artists' Co-op hosted a five-part "Artists' Lecture Series," featuring noted regional artists. The lectures provided local artists with an opportunity to share some of their experiences as an artist, and to demonstrate their particular techniques and unique use of materials. The informal lectures gave patrons a chance to broaden their base of knowledge and to gain insight into the inspirations behind the making of art.

Walking Studio Tours
The tours led participants to working artists' studios and galleries on Main Street in Washington. Members of the Artists' Co-op provided pottery, weaving and painting demonstrations during the walking tours.
